Sapporo Airport - Domestic Terminal
Japan just hits different. Airport food is never amazing, but Sapporo airport has an entire floor dedicated to restaurants. We decided to stay overnight at the airport just so we could sample the many different restaurants here.
Hokkaido is known for fresh dairy products. Instead of whisky flights, we had a chance to do flights of milk sourced from different farms around Hokkaido.
Something about Japanese coffee shops. Maybe it’s the hand brewed coffee, served in tiny cups, or perhaps the second hand smoke seeping out from the smoking section, but I could spend all days bumming around at a coffee shop.
They have an entire street in the terminal dedicated to ramen shops - at least 7-8 different shops showcasing different styles of Ramen from all over Japan. The local variety showcases local Hokkaido grown corn, and melts a stick of local Hokkaido butter into the soup to enhance the richness. I guess it makes sense given how cold the climate is and people having to burn a lot of calories getting around in deep snow.

Lots of simple preparations, highlighting the freshness of Hokkaido seafood, 540 day aged Kutchan potatoes, and the ton of amazing local product.
La Famiglia, Macau
La Famiglia is a Macanese restaurant in Macau, combining Macau’s history as a Portuguese colony with Chinese influences from its large neighbours next door. An incredibly garlicky cream of mushroom soup, a light salad with baby cuttlefish and local clams came together for a light, but satisfying meal.
